Just got back from a Mom’s Night Out (LATE) and I have a full morning, so will post when the kiddo takes a nap in the afternoon. Stay tuned…
Friday, May 12 at 8:09pm UPDATE – Still running WAY behind on my day. Quickly sitting down to type this, then off to get my son ready for bed. Was on the phone all afternoon while my son slept. AGH! Where does the time go?
Since the day is practically over and once my son is in bed, the time is devoted to my husband and I for the next few hours, I’m just going to skip today’s “Favorite Find” post. I’m sorry for slacking.
Stay tuned for my “Super Blog Saturday” post tomorrow…
I know this isn’t weight related, but I liked it so much, I wanted to share it. I saw this video on another blog I read and just had to post it to my blog too. This song was played at our wedding. I love it! I think you’ll recognize it too. It’s actually an advertisement for some phone. LOL! It’s so cool to watch (SO impressed)!
Would you believe my favorite find was right under my nose? I was searching for an old picture in some files and came across a file titled, “Diet”. Of course I was curious, so I checked it out. It was chalk full of fun stuff, motivating and encouraging. I even kept an encouraging email from a friend that is still encouraging today. There was so much information stored in this file, so I’ll have to share this favorite find with you in doses. For now, I’ll leave you with this… (LOVE this definition…very empowering and motivating)
Definition of a Workout:
A workout is 25 percent perspiration and 75 percent determination. Stated another way, it is one part physical exertion and three parts self-discipline. A workout makes you better today than you were yesterday. It strengthens the body, relaxes the mind and toughens the spirit. When you work out regularly, your problems diminish and your confidence grows. A workout is a personal triumph over laziness and procrastination. It’s the badge of a winner – the mark of an organized, goal oriented person who has taken charge of his or her destiny. A workout is a wise use of time and an investment in excellence. It is a way of preparing for life’s challenges and proving to yourself that you have what it takes to do what is necessary. A workout is a key that helps unlock the door to opportunity and success. Hidden within each of us is an extraordinary force. Physical and mental fitness are the triggers that can release it. A workout is a form of rebirth. When you finish a good workout, you don’t simply feel better, you feel better about yourself.

First let me say that “Favorite Find Friday” doesn’t always have to be serious. I came across these motivational workout towels the other day and had to laugh. Really? Someone needs a towel to motivate them?
Words To Sweat By has created several workout towels with motivational sayings on them. Here are a list of the sayings.
About a month ago, my Mom was telling me about a new zero calorie water flavoring called MiO. I found out it was going to launch in stores in late March/early April. While out grocery shopping last night, I happened to pass a display of MiO and thought I’d try it out.
I’m first going to say that I LOVE WATER! I am a HUGE water drinker and don’t feel the need to put additives in my water to help me drink it. Juice just seems to be empty calories and if I’m going to have a soda, it’s going to be diet and it’s usually a treat when I go out to eat. The only other thing I drink is coffee (I love me some coffee as you already know).
Ok, so back to MiO. While I don’t think water is in need of flavoring, sometimes it’s just fun to have a new flavor, something special to drink. There are always those few meals that seem to require something other than water. I’m not sure if that is for everyone or if I’m even making sense, but this MiO product would be perfect for those occasions. I’m also not a fan of restaurant water…YUCK! It always has a weird taste to it, which is why I get a diet soda. Sometimes I’ll get iced tea only because it has a flavor to it (so I can’t taste the nasty water). My Mom’s suggestion was to keep a MiO in my purse and use MiO in restaurant water while I’m out. It’s zero calories and would allow me to get a free drink (water) while I’m out. Makes sense to me…genius idea Mom!
There are quite a few flavors to choose from:
Berry Pomegrante
Fruit Punch
Mango Peach
Peach Tea
Sweet Tea
Strawberry Watermelon
I purchased the Berry Pomegrante and Sweet Tea. My husband loves sweet tea (me…not a fan at all). He said it was ok, but he could taste the artificial sweetener in it. My Berry Pomegrante one tasted like a watered down grape kool-aid.
Ok, so my review on this little product…
It was really good, added just enough flavor (and I could certainly add more to get more of a flavor if I choose to do so). I’m not sure it’s an every day drink additive for me, but I will say that I might take my Mom’s advice and stick one in my purse for when I’m heading to a restaurant (save some money by getting a water instead of a soda). I’d be interested in trying the Strawberry Watermelon and the Fruit Punch ones (I’m not a peach fan at all).
Some low down on MiO:
One bottle of the $3.99 MiO makes about 24 calorie-free servings.
While MiO has no artificial flavors, it does have artificial colors, artificial sweeteners and preservatives.
This isn’t a powder. MiO is a concentrated liquid that comes in tiny eye-drop-sized bottles.
